haiku poetry

are you alive?
be patient, life, when love is at the gate
for i was a gaunt, grave councillor
all down the years
out of me unworthy and unknown
i loathed you
desolate and lone
my soul is a dark ploughed field
once this soft turf
see, from this counterfeit of him
