grandmother poem

in the sphere
i hold your heart
it was a tall young oysterman
through the broad earth's aching breast
out of the deep and the dark
good woman
i saw god. do you doubt it?
since, if you stood by my side today
the fragrance came
beautiful
i burn no incense
full of tears
