friend poem

why do
there was a strangeness on your lips
gloom
i was a goddess ere the marble found me
i have seen the proudest stars
i am old and blind
shadows lay along broadway
see the tentative
have you not heard
tell me
have you seen walking through the village
i love to steal awhile away
