short funny poem

let us plant
for i was a gaunt, grave councillor
there are three ways in which men take
listen to the sounding sea
sun and wind and beat of sea
often is it not so?
while i stood listening, discreetly dumb
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
eighty years have passed, and more
but alas, just dreams
a poet, having taken the bridle off his tongue
i am singing to you
there is a country full of wine
