free poem

a thousand silent years ago
the long resounding marble corridors
braided and woven
rocked in the cradle of the deep
to the passionate lover
do i like it
there is no flock, however watched and tended
hang no wreath
some of the hurts you have cured
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
now for a brisk and cheerful fight
at midnight
