friendship poem

sleep sweetly in your humble graves
how wild, how witch-like weird that life should be
when i returned at sunset
the light withdrawn
had he and i but met
hang no wreath
passing through huddled and ugly walls
all down the years
weak-winged is song
let us plant
she must go back, she said
