family poem

to some the fat gods
they threw a stone, you threw a stone
the fragrance came
at midnight
candles toppling sideways in tomato cans
have you not heard
let us express our baser passions
i saw him once before
sleep sweetly in your humble graves
i am old and blind
night was black and drear
i was a goddess ere the marble found me
where shall i find you
