broken heart poem

but alas, just dreams
thou unrelenting past
for i was a gaunt, grave councillor
god
passing through huddled and ugly walls
she said
we who stood
do you hear the rain?
at dawn, he said
shines the last age, the next with hope is seen
see, they return
be not false
