brother poem

good woman
what was it the engines said
for i was a gaunt, grave councillor
have we no shame?
who loves the rain
you are clear
o fair and stately maid, whose eyes
a blue-black nubian plucking oranges
night was black and drear
be not false
a pen of steel
the agony of having too much power
mysterious night
