memorial poem

if i were very sure
they threw a stone, you threw a stone
a life on the ocean wave
full of tears
through the broad earth's aching breast
a mile behind
happiness
often is it not so?
they ask me where i've been
with the sunset
this is the arsenal
i see all human wits
