prose poetry

if i should die, think only this of me
i saw the first pear
out of the sparkling sea
softly now the light of day
when sea-winds pierced our solitudes
these hearts were woven of human joys and cares
perhaps
among the mountains i wandered
what spiteful chance steals unawares
from floor to ceiling
