teen love poem

day is done
in halls of sleep you wandered by
eighty years have passed, and more
and how could you dream of meeting
in new york harbor
all down the years
wheel me down by the meadow
in your flight
tell me not
do not turn your head
a few more windy days
roses and gold
that year
