good bye poem

from floor to ceiling
dark-eyed
over the rooftops race the shadows of clouds
uplifting, as the wind blew
i hold your heart
let a joy keep you
sleep, gray brother of death
the little pitiful, worn, laughing faces
afraid no more, i say
