baby shower poem

in may
sun and wind and beat of sea
do the boys and girls still go
the sun is up
they ask me where i've been
when i looked into your eyes
softly weeping
when sea-winds pierced our solitudes
the smell of the rose so false, the thorns so true
stern cold man
