teen poetry contest

the dawn was apple-green
pushing out, struggling vainly
do not grieve that it is over
within this lowly grave a conqueror lies
the old songs
last night the full moon laid a cloth of white
my mother twines me roses wet with dew
a thousand silent years ago
give me
have you seen walking through the village
since, if you stood by my side today
in your flight
i stood by the open casement
