funeral poem

sweet splendor
i made a vow once, one only
i fill this cup
a storm is riding on the tide
tripping up, falling down
she said
in mournful numbers
out of the deep and the dark
it tells of good old times
one sweetly solemn thought
and breaketh bread no more
as evening falls
why do
