thanksgiving poem

brother, i am fire
like eagles on up high
dear wife
i do not pray for peace
i shall see a star tonight
have we no shame?
a thin gray shadow on the edge of thought
dark-eyed
burly, dozing humble-bee
behold me, in my chiffon, gauze and tinsel
two rows of cabbages
