free online love poem

with the sunset
did you ever see an alligator
at dawn, he said
two rows of cabbages
in mournful numbers
for truth, for love
we were not many
from our hidden places
i saw god. do you doubt it?
if the red slayer think he slays
in all things not spoken of
simply speaking
who loves the rain
