poem for pastors

when i was broke in london
and how could you dream of meeting
full of tears
he speaks not well
i am fevered
high walls and huge
the old songs
why do
since, if you stood by my side today
we break the glass whose sacred wine
made up of loveliness alone
a storm is riding on the tide
who loves the rain
