fall poem

beautiful
i do not pray for peace
softly weeping
rose and amber was the sunset on the river
the child who threw away leaf after leaf
these be
do not turn your head
they ask me where i've been
now that i have cooled to you
in mournful numbers
often is it not so?
dark-eyed
