family poem

love me at last, or if you will not
my soul is a dark ploughed field
i saw the first pear
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
what shall we do now
tell me not
as evening falls
melancholy, blue it was
he came and took me by the hand
did you ever see an alligator
have you seen walking through the village
there is an hour of peaceful rest
