anniversary poem

with joy and wonder
my soul is a dark ploughed field
i burn no incense
they ask me where i've been
i do not pray for peace
like him whose spirit in the blaze of noon
the mountains they are silent folk
no prey am i of poor thoughts
the hypocritic days
