good bye poem

it was a tall young oysterman
braided and woven
the darkness
and breaketh bread no more
a mile behind
at dawn, he said
if i were very sure
but i cannot read you now
now that i have cooled to you
when i was broke in london
i said, i have shut my heart
the sun is up
be not false
