family poem

why do you always stand there shivering
brother, i am fire
from floor to ceiling
sadly speaking
we lay
in halls of sleep you wandered by
she has a clear, wind-sheltered loveliness
love has been sung a thousand ways
gone are the three, those sisters rare
when i was a boy at college
have you seen walking through the village
some of the hurts you have cured
