kid poem

once this soft turf
the shadows of the ships
perhaps it is no matter that you died
lo! 'tis a gala night
out of the window a sea of green trees
at dawn, he said
the fragrance came
have you heard
suddenly, out of dark and leafy ways
better than granite
rose and amber was the sunset on the river
