writing poetry

a storm is riding on the tide
i went up and down the streets
old wine to drink
afraid no more, i say
he's gone
when the veil from the eyes is lifted
i've won the race
eighty years have passed, and more
take my bracelets
the little pitiful, worn, laughing faces
by the rude bridge
