that strange companion came on shuffling feet
listen to the sounding sea
and breaketh bread no more
i have seen the proudest stars
the rain was over, and the brilliant air
calm as that second summer
we who stood
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
the pale day drowses on the western steep
i despise my friends more than you
the darkness
the long resounding marble corridors
i made a vow once, one only
