suicide poetry

before the solemn bronze saint
the long resounding marble corridors
shadows lay along broadway
she limps with halting painful pace

dear wife
beneath my window in a city street
sweet and strong
i loved a woman
and so it goes
a little peach in the orchard grew
the fragrance came
do you remember
