i love you poem

my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
when the hours of day are numbered
the shadows of the ships
they in the darkness gather and ask
that strange companion came on shuffling feet
i sometimes wonder if it's really true
of sun nor stars
there is no flock, however watched and tended
look out upon the stars, my love
under a spreading chestnut tree
the light withdrawn
one sweetly solemn thought
i saw the clouds among the hills
