life poem

quietly, with reverance, in awe
old wine to drink
in their ragged regimentals
i think it just splendid
let me be sad
my mother twines me roses wet with dew
i hold your heart
as a white candle
gloom
have you heard
within this lowly grave a conqueror lies
shadows lay along broadway
in new york harbor
a flying word from here and there
