poem for dad

i know not where
under dusky laurel leaf
moonlight deep and tender
this is the ship of pearl
tell me not
there is a country full of wine
a storm is riding on the tide
so lost
who loves the rain
a bird sang
therefore i may not
you say you love me
beneath my window in a city street
he speaks not well
