poem for dad

her face is fair and smooth and fine
in the sphere
the poets tell
from floor to ceiling
i love my life, but not too well
the meadow was creeping
you say you love me
desolate and lone
master of human destinies am i
i stood
a blue-black nubian plucking oranges
