grandmother poem

high walls and huge
did you ever see an alligator
i loved a woman
splendid and terrible your love
now that i have cooled to you
you are clear
i am old and blind
let me be sad
my son is dead and i am going blind
green afternoon serene and bright
wheel me down by the meadow
