sympathy poem

bring me soft song
the swan existing
a look is but a ray
calm as that second summer
a mist was driving down
are you awake?
i am old and blind
she said
when the hours of day are numbered
could we but know
the air is like a butterfly
along the banks
splendid and terrible your love
