lost love poem

mysterious night
one sweetly solemn thought
very well, you liberals
i stood by the open casement
i have seen the proudest stars
moonlight deep and tender
in new york harbor
high-born race
i am dying
in his guarded tent
sing again the song you sung
gloom
like eagles on up high
