poem and quote

listen
the endless, foolish merriment of stars
i am old and blind
she was a beauty in the days
are you awake?
he speaks not well
the arches of the red bridge
hang no wreath
with the sunset
pushing out, struggling vainly
let a joy keep you
braided and woven
the pale day drowses on the western steep
