christian poem

do not turn your head
the old songs
a bird sang
from floor to ceiling
but i cannot read you now
lady, your heart has turned to dust
the light withdrawn
melancholy, blue it was
this ancient silver bowl of mine
world that changes under my hand
old wine to drink
