i miss you poem

i went up and down the streets
i have come into the desert because my soul is athirst
above them all, looking down
look out upon the stars, my love
why are the things that have no death
i reside at table mountain
the pale day drowses on the western steep
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
and as we walked the grass was faintly stirred
stuff of the moon
what do i owe to you
a very remarkable history this is
