daughter poem

tripping up, falling down
what was it the engines said
in and of itself
simply speaking
let us express our baser passions
city that is not a city
with joy and wonder
they may talk of love in a cottage
did you ever see an alligator
at midnight
the light withdrawn
the ancient songs
