sad poetry

as a naked man i go
if i were very sure
a mist was driving down
have you heard
often is it not so?
let a joy keep you
all quiet along the potomac
winged shadows sweeping by
some of the hurts you have cured
sweet and strong
i was a goddess ere the marble found me
happiness
