thanksgiving poetry

in your flight
to some the fat gods
burly, dozing humble-bee
while i stood listening, discreetly dumb
we who stood
a few more windy days
the shadows of the ships
among the mountains i wandered
in mournful numbers
i loathed you
i love to steal awhile away
