death poem

i loathed you
these be
my sorrow, when she's here with me
here falls no light
as evening falls
a mile behind
let us plant
like eagles on up high
very well, you liberals
had he and i but met
out of the sparkling sea
all quiet along the potomac
why do you always stand there shivering
