lost love poem

therefore i may not
thou unrelenting past
a thin gray shadow on the edge of thought
when the hours of day are numbered
beside a stricken field
tell me not
did you ever see an alligator
hang no wreath
bring me soft song
happiness
master of human destinies am i
see, they return
