graduation poem

when the wind works against us in the dark
those black eyes i once so praised
the sky
i am a woman
a thin gray shadow on the edge of thought
who is the runner in the skies
have you seen walking through the village
all my love for my sweet
take my bracelets
this is the arsenal
i gazed upon the glorious sky
in new york harbor
hang no wreath
out of the deep and the dark
