halloween poem

simplicity
woman much missed, how you call to me, call to me
that year
sweet and strong
i stand in the cold gray weather
i am fevered
afraid no more, i say
desolate and lone
candles toppling sideways in tomato cans
beside a stricken field
i saw with open eyes
