poem and quote

over the river, on the hill
who loves the rain
good woman
i am fevered
like eagles on up high
through the broad earth's aching breast
beautiful, tragical faces
wheel me down by the meadow
in mournful numbers
soft as the bed in the earth
along the banks
the old songs
it tells of good old times
