father poem

under dusky laurel leaf
among the mountains i wandered
and my name is truthful
i am the wind that wavers
simply speaking
once this soft turf
all quiet along the potomac
stern cold man
bring me soft song
so lost
brother, i am fire
along the banks
i stood by the open casement
i am old and blind
