friendship poem

i fill this cup
gone before us
have you not heard
i've won the race
her face is fair and smooth and fine
now while my lips are living
i hold your heart
beautiful
a thin gray shadow on the edge of thought
i love my hour of wind and light
like eagles on up high
little park that i pass through
