love poem quote

one by one, like leaves from a tree
often i think of the beautiful town
when i was a boy at college
in an old chamber softly lit
i had over-prepared the event
let us express our baser passions
when a deed is done for freedom
when i returned at sunset
i have heard them in the night
it was a tall young oysterman
while i stood listening, discreetly dumb
though love repine, and reason chafe
this ancient silver bowl of mine
white foam flower, red flame flower
