daughter poem

in your flight
day is done
therefore i may not
all quiet along the potomac
so fallen
give me hunger
this is the song of youth
made up of loveliness alone
they ask me where i've been
the pale day drowses on the western steep
all down the years
let a joy keep you
these be
i saw with open eyes
